Science Based Targets (SBTs) for nature

IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute supports companies in mapping their impacts on nature and setting science-based targets for biodiversity, ecosystems and natural resources in line with the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) framework – from impact assessment to target setting and prioritized actions.

Science Based Targets for Nature is a framework that helps companies assess their impacts and dependencies and set science-based targets related to nature, freshwater, land and biodiversity. Working with these targets enables companies to focus efforts on the areas of their operations and value chains that have the greatest impact on nature.

IVL contributes to the development of the SBTN methodology and provides practical support throughout the process – from mapping and hotspot analysis to target development, prioritization and training.
