Energy system integration on the IEA DHC agenda
Flexi-Sync participates in the IEA DHC work to promote Hybrid Energy Networks.
IEA DHC Annex TS3 Hybrid Energy Networks aims to promote opportunities for district energy networks by means of an integrated approach, i.e. creating a hybrid energy infrastructure between electric grids, gas grids and other energy vectors through various coupling points such as combined heat and power (CHP), power-to-gas (P2G), heat pumps, etc. Sector integration is more important than ever. The European Commission is now preparing a strategy on energy system integration External link, opens in new window. and has highligthed the importance of sector integration to facilitate the decarbonization and efficiency gains of the energy system.
On April 22-23 Flexi-Sync was represented by the project partners RISE and IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute at the TS3 internal and industry workshops. Among the items discussed were the SWOT analysis on Hybrid Energy Networks that will go on public consultation later this year. Keep your eyes open for your chance to provide input!
Annex TS3 is chaired by Ralf-Roman Schmidt, AIT, who is also participating in the Flexi-Sync project.
