As demand for exhaust air filtration has increased, filter manufacturer Camfil, based in Trosa, Sweden, has expanded its operations. The company manufactures filters of all kinds and now has customers worldwide. And it's not because it offers the lowest prices that it has been so successful, but thanks to the longevity of the filters as well as the amount of data that can be extracted.

“The hygienic limits for indoor air are getting stricter and stricter, and the data we can get shows how the filters perform in real life. But our support is also excellent, which our customers appreciate. We deliver worldwide, for example, to Peru and Taiwan”, says Jakob Ekblom, laboratory engineer at Camfil.

Solutions for better indoor climate

The company was founded in 1963 and has since developed products to improve the indoor climate in schools, workplaces and industries. The most significant product group is filters, primarily classic cassette filters that can be installed in apartments, kitchens and restaurants.

IVL has been doing development work for Camfil for many years. IVL's products help Camfil measure the air to see if the current filtration solutions are doing the job or if something needs to be upgraded or changed.

“The buttons”, as Jakob Ekblom calls them, are cylindrical tubes developed by IVL to capture various specific substances such as ozone or nitrogen dioxide. Thanks to the small size of the buttons, they can be distributed to customers all over the world.

“They are easy to distribute worldwide, which is invaluable to us. We appreciate IVL's expertise very much. We ask many questions and always get good answers. Sometimes, they help us by commenting on things we need to be aware of, and if our contact at IVL doesn't know something we've talked about, she discusses it with her colleagues and then gets back to us. This means a lot to us”, says Jakob Ekblom.
