SEK City Elite Scholarship Camp

SEK City Elite Scholarship Camp is a two-week summer camp for students from India and China to learn about sustainable development in Sweden. Built upon the values of Smart learning, Eco city and Konnected society, the camp provides prestigious opportunity to experience Sweden’s state-of-the-art environmental practices. We aspire to instill Sustainable Development as the core theme so that students develop inspiration for building eco-cities in their home countries.

Sweden, the mother land of Alfred Nobel, is famous for its outstanding creations and innovation and a world leader in environmental protection. The United Nations has ranked Sweden as number 1 in fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals for two consecutive years. Sweden’s success in the clean tech industry stems from prioritizing environmental challenges and IVL, as the leading environmental research institute in Sweden, has rich experiences in different fields of environment, including education for international corporates, decision makers, as well as the youth.

IVL has been organizing youth environmental camps in Sweden and China for 3 years, and this year we are excited to release a new edition with support from the Swedish Institute: SEK City Elite Scholarship Camp.

During the SEK City Elite Scholarship Camp, the students will learn how Sweden has managed to decouple carbon emissions from economic growth. They will learn about sustainable development goals, Swedish environmental technologies and sustainable urban development through workshops and study visits. Extensive trainings in waste, water and energy management will be held by leading environmental experts. Our aim with this camp is to increase students’ knowledge about sustainable development and inspire them to undertake positive actions to develop eco-cities in their home countries.

While the students learn about environmental development, they will also have a chance to experience Swedish culture with museum visits and cooking classes.
