IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute Opens in new window. is an independent, non-profit organization, owned by a foundation jointly established by the Swedish Government and Swedish industry. IVL was established in 1966 and has since then been involved in the development of solutions to environmental problems, both at national and international level. IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute has a broad environmental profile.

The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA)

The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) External link, opens in new window. is the globally leading research institute on systems analysis, integrated assessment and scientific policy support. It was founded to bridge the divide between different ideologies and models of society and offers independent, interdisciplinary and solution-oriented approaches. Its research agenda features major global and universal challenges to humanity, including energy, climate change, ecosystems, population, technologies, and more broadly sustainable development.

Beijing Normal University

Beijing Normal University External link, opens in new window. is a prestigious university, which is established in 1902. Beijing Normal University is one of the national bases for talent development of high quality and creativity. The School of Environment has an outstanding research profile and two key laboratories, namely the State Key Joint Laboratory for Environment Simulation and the Key Laboratory for Water and Sediment Science.

Fudan University

Fudan University External link, opens in new window. is ranked in the top 50 universities in the world. The urban resource economy research group of Fudan University has established an integrated analytic framework on ecological resource accounting at the regional and industrial level, and explored the ecological transformation model for cleaner production and circular economy in the pulp and paper industry. The sustainable behavior group has substantially developed the EU/Brighton “WeValue” values-based method to elicit articulated shared values from groups of stakeholders, in China and many Western countries, and used them to mitigate social vulnerability and increase local voice in planning.

Jinan university

The research group of Jinan University External link, opens in new window. has developed their academic strengths in the areas of ecological environment protection issues, rapid economic development, cooperation mechanisms on green environmental development and micro-enterprises. Jinan University has also carried out a series of innovative research in the field of sustainability management, especially for the research of the impacts of environmental regulation policies on enterprise behavior.

Chalmers University of Technology

Chalmers External link, opens in new window. is focused on competence, knowledge and collaboration in order to play an important, demonstrable role in social development with a local, national and global perspective. This is reflected by the fact that Chalmers is a leading global institution for research cooperation with industry. The overall goal of Chalmers is to contribute to the transition of society towards a sustainable future, this includes the development of knowledge and technology through teaching and research that deal with both environmental questions and the broader perspective of sustainable development.
