Eased requirements for office- & onboard audits due to Covid-19
Due to social distancing procedures applied by governments and organizations, being part of the Covid-19 counteractions, CSI eases its requirements on office- & onboard audits during verification.
Classification societies report they recently gained improved experience in similar (non-CSI) audits carried out remotely.
On page 5 and 6 in CSI’s Verification Guidelines, office- & onboard audits are stipulated as a demand for air emission items (CO2, SOx & PM and NOx). From August 11th, 2020, until further notice, office audits are no longer a demand for any part of the CSI verification, yet recommended if combinable with Covid-19 restrictions – and recommendation – adherence.
