The ambitions for the Resource program are high, being Sweden’s largest research and innovation investment regarding resource and waste. Sweden is to become a world leader in minimizing and utilize waste, and for that to happen new technologies, business models and processes are needed.
The three main areas of research in the Resource program are aimed towards less waste, broken fossil dependency and sustainable supply of materials. Through these areas the program is supporting the development of innovations that can contribute to a more efficient use of resources, both in society and business. The vision is that Sweden will become a world leader regarding minimizing and utilizing waste.
Resource has been appointed by the Swedish Energy Agency, Vinnova and Formas as a Strategic Innovation Program, meaning it is of great importance for Sweden’s international competitiveness, as well as for creating sustainable solutions to global societal challenges.
The program is led by SP Technical Research Institute in collaboration with Chalmers Industrial Technology, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, Swerea, Chalmers, Luleå University of Technology and Inno Group. IVL is responsible for one of the main areas and jointly responsible with SP for the communication of the program.
