Reflections of SCEWC/2024
After having the pleasure of presenting at SCEWC2024, Dr. Verónica Arcas Pilz, from ICTA-UAB, shared insights into the FOCUSE project, more specifically her areas of focus with regards to experiments on the potential use of residual waste flows, and research on nutrient recovery solutions. The essence of what Verónica and colleagues presented and reinforced were the importance of scaling up small initiatives that have the potential to generate positive impacts for society, the economy and the environment.
The Smart Cities Expo World Congress was held in Barcelona in the beginning of November.
Here is a brief feflection with Dr. Verónica Arcas Pilz:
“Looking back at last week’s DUT Partnership booth session at the Smart City Expo World Congress I shared with Marie Ivarsson and Alice Lunardon where we had the chance to talk about the DUT community through our projects and initiatives.”
How did your session go?
“I'm super happy with how this session turned out and I feel we made some interesting points on how we imagine our cities should look like in the near future. Here I was able to present our project FOCUSE and how we envision circularity between urban areas and agricultural production.
I would like to thank Zoë de Jonge and Orsolya Küttel for the nice organization, and to the Joint European Commission Partner Area for hosting us.”
