WISE Ukraine – Empowering women to lead the green transition
WISE Ukraine is an 18-month programme that supports 25 women professionals in Ukraine to strengthen leadership skills and help drive the country’s sustainable energy transition.
The programme brings together Swedish and Ukrainian expertise through expert sessions, coaching and peer learning. Participants design a local Change Project together with a Home Team from their organisation, and develop the confidence to lead sustainable transformation.
WISE Ukraine combines Swedish and Ukrainian expertise in a blended, interactive training model with international peer exchange and strong institutional anchoring. Participants are selected through an open national call and represent the energy, public and academic sectors in Ukraine.
Change Projects and Home Teams
Each applicant will propose a Change Project they wish to implement during the programme. Selected participants will develop and carry out these projects with a Home Team 2–3 colleagues from their organisation. Home Teams will engage in mostly all online training components, supporting shared learning, stronger institutional commitment and broader impact.
Reach and stakeholder engagement
WISE Ukraine will engage a diverse ecosystem of Ukrainian stakeholders across academia, municipalities, government agencies, civil society, media, and the energy and business sectors to ensure relevance, visibility and long-term impact. In total, the programme will reach 75–100 professionals through participants and their teams, building capacity in gender, leadership and energy topics.
The project is funded by the Swedish Institute (SI).
