We conduct applied research for ecologically, economically and socially sustainable growth in the business sector and the rest of society.

  • Accelerating the climate transition in port-related road freight

    Despite ambitious climate targets, there are currently no clear mechanisms in place to create demand for electrified heavy transport. Ports could play a greater role in this regard. This project investigates whether freight environmental agreements, voluntary but binding agreements between public and private actors, could be a way forward.

  • Monitoring fish health in land-based fish farms

    Swedish fish production needs to increase to meet demand and reduce dependence on imports. At the same time, there are growing requirements for animal health and welfare in aquaculture. This project is developing new AI-based methods to monitor fish health in land-based farms, providing farmers with better tools to detect problems early and ensure sustainable production.

  • Biogas production from straw, grass and reed

    The demand for biogas as a fossil-free alternative is growing, and there is a great need to explore the potential of utilising various residual and waste products. This project will contribute to this development by investigating the feasibility of using straw, roadside grass and reeds for biogas production.
