Climate & Sustainable Cities

Sustainable building — Energy and waste — Policy and economy

We work with a broad range of issues related to the three pillars of sustainability — economy, environment and social responsibility — at different levels of society. Our work ranges from sustainability aspects of products, buildings, areas, cities, regions and countries to impact assessments of what different political processes and decisions may have on business and society. At the community level, we work with energy efficiency and energy systems in cities, the management of waste, and the environmental impact of different alternatives. In this work, we assess political decisions and economic consequences, but also analyse individual cost-effective solutions.

Our work on climate issues is focused on the connection between how political decisions at the local, regional and global levels affect our climate directly and indirectly. For example, we calculate where emission reductions would bring the greatest benefits at the least costs. We also guide companies through the jungle of environmental agreements and regulations, and support them with the decisions that affect their business.
