Research and development

Research and development is the foundation for our work. As research practitioners we are also developing skills and knowledge that form the basis of our consulting business.

Research and development represents just over half of IVL's entire business. The purpose of this research is to pursue issues that are of great interest to industry and are of general relevance to society.

EU-funded research is another important part of our business. We participate in EU projects in areas relevant to the Swedish society. Through these projects, we build up networks and expertise in an international perspective.

Appropriation funded research, where for example Mistra and the Swedish EPA are two of our granters, is another important part of our business.
In addition, we also conduct commissioned research on assignments by external clients, companies or entire lines of businesses.
